Publication Ethics Policy

The International Journal of Data Science and Applied Statistics (IJDSAS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows guidelines established by recognized organizations, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to ensure the ethical conduct of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the journal itself. The following publication ethics policy outlines the principles and responsibilities that govern the publication process in IJDSAS:

1. Authorship and Plagiarism:

Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts are original works and appropriately acknowledge the sources of information used in their research.

All listed authors must have contributed significantly to the research and manuscript preparation, and they should approve the final version of the paper before submission.

Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and redundant publication, is strictly prohibited. Authors should appropriately cite and reference the works of others.

2. Peer Review Process:

All submitted manuscripts are subject to a rigorous peer-review process conducted by experts in the field. Reviewers are expected to provide fair, unbiased, and constructive feedback to authors.

Reviewers should declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts if they cannot provide an impartial evaluation.

3. Editorial Independence and Conflict of Interest:

Editors are responsible for making unbiased decisions on manuscript acceptance based on the paper’s quality, originality, and contribution to the field.

Editors and editorial board members should disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their decisions and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in such cases.

4. Duplicate Submission:

Duplicate publication refers to the submission, acceptance, or publication of a manuscript that substantially overlaps with another already published work, without proper acknowledgment or justification. This includes submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously or republishing a previously published paper in its entirety. Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is entirely original and has not been published or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts found to be in violation of the duplicate publication policy will be promptly rejected without further review. If duplicate publication is discovered after a paper has been published, the article will be retracted from the journal and appropriately marked as such.

6. Data Fabrication & Falsification:

Submitted manuscripts that are found to have either fabricated or falsified experimental results, including the manipulation of images, will incur a data fabrication and falsification penalty.

6. Citation Manipulation:

Submitted manuscripts that are found to include citations whose primary purpose is to increase the number of citations to a given author’s work, or to articles published in a particular journal, will incur a citation manipulation penalty.

7. Confidentiality and Security:

All parties involved in the publication process must ensure the confidentiality and security of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.

8. Misconduct and Ethical Violations:

IJDSAS takes any allegations of research misconduct, data falsification, plagiarism, or unethical behavior seriously. Such cases will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate actions will be taken, which may include rejection, retraction, or notification of relevant authorities.

9. Open Access and Licensing:

IJDSAS is an open-access journal, and authors retain copyright to their published works. Articles are published under Creative Commons licenses that allow broad dissemination and reuse, provided proper attribution is given.

10. Publication Fee and Funding Disclosure:

Authors are required to disclose any sources of funding or financial support for their research, and any applicable publication fees.

11. Advertising and Commercial Interests:

The journal’s editorial decisions are independent of any advertising or commercial interests, and the journal does not allow any form of advertising within its publications.

IJDSAS is committed to promoting responsible and ethical research practices, and we encourage authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold the highest standards of integrity throughout the publication process.

Note: The above publication ethics policy is a general outline and should be adapted and further expanded to suit the specific needs and guidelines of the International Journal of Data Science and Applied Statistics (IJDSAS).
